Ab-initio methods in spectroscopy

Scope

The meeting will be a satellite event to the Hand-on course "Introduction to the application of ab-initio methods in spectroscopy". We expect that the meeting will be attended mostly but not exclusively by people who are interested in the topics covered by the Hand-on course, i.e., spectroscopy calculations using the plane waves, using the multiple-scattering Green's function formalism or by means of multiplet ligand-field theory formalism (and related methods). However, the meeting will be open, meaning that all topics within the EUSpec scope are welcome (including, of course, interesting experimental results). The meeting will be devoted to discussing science and not organization matters.

Time schedule

The meeting is planned to consist of three sessions, one before the lunch and two after the lunch.

End of registation and abstract submission: January 15th 2015- Registration is closed

Conference fee

We are happy to announce that the conference fee has been waived thanks to support from the COST. Included are Lunch, Coffee & Snacks for the breaks and a Conference Dinner.

On-site registration

Registration on-site will take place on Wednesday February 25 between 15:45 and 17:30 and Thursday February 26 between 8:30 and 9:00 in front of room A1.75 on the campus of the Science and Technology Park in Pilsen (Teslova 3, Plzen).

Venue and accomodation

The meeting will take place in Pilsen, at the same location as the Hand-on Cource "Introduction to the application of ab-initio method in spectroscopy" (see the menu on the left).

For the information how to get here, please consult this guide , in case of any uncertainty please do not hesitate to contact us.

The participants are supposed to organize the accomodation by themselves, a suggested list of hotels in the same as for the Hand-on course (see the menu on the left).

Conference dinner and lunch

The light lunch (sendwiches) will be organised at the venue location. The meeting will be closed by a Pilsen brewery tour followed by a Conference dinner in the brewery restaurant. If you request a vegetarian meal, please contact us.
